Haim Katz, Israel’s Minister of Tourism, attended the World Tourism Organization’s 70th Commission for Europe meeting in Tirana. He met with the Minister of tourist and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, and signed a joint statement to strengthen bilateral tourist assistance and cooperation.

Minister Kumbaro applauded this country’s approach to collaboration and exchanges that promote tourism as a bridge between states and people in difficult times.

“I would like to express my gratitude to Minister Katz and I am pleased to see that this agreement is aimed at promoting cooperation in the exchange of information between institutions, innovation, tourism, education and within the framework of cooperation with the UNWTO, which promotes tourism and travel as a bridge between countries and people. This is a positive message in these difficult times,” said Kumbaro.

Katz, the Minister of Tourism, stated that Albania is making significant progress in tourism, and congratulated them for holding this meeting with politicians and tourist representatives from throughout the continent.

Albania welcomed more than 13,000 visitors from Israel in 2023. There were 53% more Israeli tourists in the first three months of 2024 than there were in the same period the previous year.
Under the theme “Albania All Senses,” the Ministry of Tourism and Environment in collaboration with the Albanian Embassy in Israel will host a promotional meeting with Albanian tour operators in Israel this week.
